Who We Are

NJASLS was formed in February 2000 to advocate for over 2,000 Speech Language Specialists that work in New Jersey and became an affiliate group of NJEA.

We are an organization that is governed by a voluntary Executive Board consisting of elected and appointed officers, regional delegates, and committee chairs. There will be periodic newsletters mailed to members. There shall be professional and educational meetings at the November NJEA Convention and one professional and educational meeting in the spring.

Our Mission

• Advocate for students with communication disabilities that impact upon their educational performance,
• Facilitate conditions necessary to secure the greatest effectiveness
  of speech language specialists practice,
• Advance the standards of the profession of Speech Language Pathology in the educational setting, and
• Promote actively the professional interests of NJASLS members.
